HWPI COVID-19 Response

As we move through the unprecedented COVID-19 era, trails provide one of the best and last opportunities for exercise, solace and access to nature, when so much of our society is closed. We are reminded of just how important trails are to community well-being, in both good times and times of crisis. We want to thank our partners, donors and volunteers, who have helped develop and maintain this invaluable resource.

While HWPI volunteering and events are suspended until restrictions on public gathering are lifted, we continue our commitment to expanding the Border-to-Border Trail. We encourage you to enjoy the rich network of trails that you have had a part in developing, and remember to practice social distancing to protect our collective health and safety.

Enjoy Your Trails – Safely

HWPI encourages trail users to follow guidelines set by government officials. At a time when we are faced with so many limitations, the Border-to-Border Trail System offers the public a valuable resource that is still accessible when we continue to practice safe physical distancing.

Below are some helpful tips and resources to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience on the B2B in accordance with Governor Whitmer’s “Stay Home. Stay Safe” Executive Order.
