Bridge the B2B : Double Your Donation for Dexter’s Trail Connection

Welcome to the Challenge!

This community effort is an opportunity for you to help raise $250,000 to finalize the Border to Border Trail crossing over Mill Creek—connecting the B2B Trail segment along Dexter-Chelsea Road into downtown Dexter. This effort to complete this exciting B2B Trail connection into Dexter has been years in the making, made possible through a public-private partnership between the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission and the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative. As we get closer to the finish line, we need your help to put this project over the top!

With your help, this 0.8-mile segment from Parker Road on Dexter-Chelsea Road into downtown Dexter will complete the easternmost connection of the Dexter to Chelsea corridor along the B2B Trail – and bring us within 1 mile of a fully connected, 6.5 mile corridor between Dexter and Chelsea. (Click map for larger image.) Excitingly, this project also includes a bridge over Mill Creek. The bridge for this crossing will be the historic Bell Road Bridge, which dates back to 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is being removed from storage and refurbished for use on the B2B Trail.

Your support of this critical B2B Trail connection is greatly appreciated. We are so excited to share this project with the Dexter community, and work with you to bring it to reality in the coming months.
